The incredible story of the women of Rosenstrasse (Rose Street in Berlin)
On February 27, 1943, 1700 Jews were rounded up in Germany, he had been spared until then, because he was married to non-Jewish German women!
German wives, noticing the absence of their husbands, began to go to Rosenstrasse, where some husbands were incarcerated, and as the hours passed, more and more German women joined those already present in the street. At the end of the day, there are more than 200 of them, some of whom do not hesitate to spend the night outside. The next day, the number of protesters doubled, and their demands grew stronger and stronger. Neither the dark presence of the Gestapo office dealing with Jewish affairs very close to the gathering place, nor the supervision of the movement by the SS managed to shake the morale of the wives. Anger is growing and some altercations even take place between demonstrators and the police.
On March 5, the Gestapo intervened and fired machine guns in an attempt to frighten the women. The latter run in all directions, but return to the prison again a short time later.
On March 6, the arrests were stopped, the prisoners married to German women and the children were released. The Nazi authorities even went so far as to search for 25 married Jews who had already been transferred to Auschwitz.
This event is unprecedented and proves that with a large-scale demonstration, German women succeeded in making Hitler bend, unfortunately this event is unique in the history of the Third Reich.
In photo, a monument in memory of this demonstration and these courageous women!

The Jewish people are often wrongly presented during the Shoah as a people of sheep who allowed themselves to be led to the slaughterhouse without resisting!
